York Castle Museum is open daily from 9.30am until 5pm, except 25 and 26 December and 1 January (It opens at 10am on Fridays during school term times and usually closes mid-afternoon on 24 and 31 December).

Children now get free entry to the museum as long as they are with a paying adult, prices are:
Adult - £8 (Concessionary Adult - £7)
Children - FREE with a paying adult (includes concessionary adults)
This special offer does not apply to organised groups such as schools.
Residents with a York Card - FREE
Wheelchair users plus one carer - FREE
Come Back For Free
Tickets are valid for 12 months, at no extra charge, so you can come back as many times as you like for a year.
Tickets are personal and not transferable so we just need to take your name and address (this information is not passed on or used for marketing purposes) and you may be asked for ID on your return visit. If, for any reason you don't want to give your name and address, day tickets are available at the same price.
How to Find Us
York Castle Museum is in the centre of York, close to Cliffords Tower and the Coppergate Shopping Centre. Follow the green pedestrian signs to the Castle Area.
It is 20 to 25 minutes walk from York Railway Station.
The nearest car park is the Castle car park, next to Cliffords Tower, which has 305 spaces. This car park is off Clifford Street, off the inner ring road, most easily reached from the A19 to the south of the city or the A1036 to the south west.
