Your Sixties

Whatever happened to the 60s people

Being in your 20s in the 1960s was great. There was tolerance and an ability to do your own thing. Life was fun and we had discovered something which our boring parents never knew. We cared passionately about causes such as CND.

When I look at the people of my age in the bus queue, you see conservative old women and miserable old men. Were these the swing chicks of the 60s in their miniskirts or were the men into flower power, with a great head of hair? I thought as a generation we would turn out better than this.
